Telugu actress Sri Reddy has been grabbing the headlines in the recent past after she accused several big names in the Telugu film industry, including Rana Daggubati’s brother Abhiram Daggubati, Raghava Lawrence, Nani, and Koratala Siva, of sexual misconduct. She later went on to strip in public, as a form of protest against the alleged predators of the industry, seeking justice.

Much to the joy of the actress, Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao set up a committee of 25 members to efficiently investigate and examine the sexual exploitation issue in the Telugu film industry. The delighted actress took to her social media to praise the CM for his decision. “Being a Hyderabadi Proud moment today..Thank u soooooooo much real hero kcr garu..my dream came true today..from mark of bit*h now you made me a heroine to this world..1 year of my pain gave the birth..g.o passed by government against sexual harrassment..for movie industry committee is forming soon on sexual harrassment..now got tremendous result for my removing clothes..main persons who made this true is sandya ,vasudha, sajaya, tej love u all..for this movement heart is “apoorva”..thank u every one, (sic),” she posted on her Facebook page.

Sri Reddy had questioned the Movie Artists’ Association (MAA) and the Telangana government on why there was no provision of a committee to look into cases of sexual harassment after she stripped outside the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. The MAA had banned her following the stunt, which was however lifted after a few days.
