Stalin asks people to hoist black flats on April 12 to condemn PM’s visit

DMK’s working president M.K. Stalin has appealed to the people of the State to hoist black flags at their houses on 12th April when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the State.

Stalin commenced his walkathon from Trichy’s Mukkombu to Cuddalore on Saturday (07th April) to press the BJP-led Centre to implement the Supreme Court’s February orders in setting up a Cauvery Management Board (CMB).  On the second day of his walkathon, Stalin left from Surakkottai in Thanjavur after addressing a meeting.

“It’s not a politically motivated journey – walkathon – and its purpose has been clearly spelt out.  It’s a walkathon intended to retrieve Tamils’ rights over Cauvery (river water) and to condemn Centre’s continued reluctance in setting up the CMB,” he said.

He urged the people of the State to hoist black flags at their residences and homes on 12th April (Thursday) when Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be visiting the State.  “This is our best available means to express our protest; the black-flag protest would be held even if the Prime Minister travels by chopper,” he assured and added that he and his party cadres were ready to spend the rest of their lives in prison on the Cauvery issue.
