It is going to be an interesting clash of films over the weekend at the box office, what with Sunny Deol's 'Singh Saab The Great' arriving along with 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein'. Though there have been quite a few instances when Sunny's films have clashed with Aamir's [Ghayal v/s Dil, Gadar v/s Lagaan being the most notable of the lot], it would be interesting to see the veteran actor take on 'bhanja' Imran.

Thankfully, the genre of both films is totally opposite to each other and even the target audience as well as theatre distribution would be neatly cut out. While 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein' would be aiming at multiplex audience, 'Singh Saab The Great' is all set to reach out to single screen 'junta'. Eventually, it is going to be an all-India audience that should be the ultimate gainer since there is something in there for everyone.

All of this means that at prime centres across the country, the Karan Johar production should take the lead, especially in multiplexes with opening footfalls in the 40%-50% range. On the other hand at single screens in the interiors, the Anil Sharma directed film would have a similar start.

Both films would have some challenge from 'Ram Leela' though which is running strong. This could well turn out to be a week when as many as three distinct films would be vying for audience attention. While 'Ram Leela' is already a good success, it would be interesting to see if Imran and Kareena would eventually get a solid hit to their name while Sunny would manage to shrug away his last few disappointments and ultimately roar the loudest.
