Superstar Birthday Special: ‘Padayappa’ Re-Release Trailer Released – Fans Enthusiastic!

To mark the birthday (December 12) of Tamil cinema’s Superstar actor Rajinikanth, his massive blockbuster movie ‘Padayappa’ is set to be re-released in theaters, digitally restored with new technology. While this announcement has already sparked huge celebrations among Rajini’s fans, the film’s new trailer, which has just been released, has further heightened their expectations.

‘Padayappa’, which was directed by K.S. Ravikumar and released in 1999, setting records both critically and commercially, is now being re-released in 4K quality.

The trailer, which was released yesterday evening (December 10), features the mass scenes, punch dialogues celebrated by ‘Padayappa’ fans, and A.R. Rahman’s wonderful background score, all with a new shine, which has been a great feast for the fans.

Rajini’s style-filled dialogues like, “Poda Aandavane Namma Pakkam” (Go, God is on our side), and the intimidating scenes of Ramya Krishnan’s ‘Neelambari’ character are featured again in the trailer.

A special video where actor Rajinikanth spoke about the ‘Padayappa’ re-release was also recently released and went viral among fans. In it, he shared his experiences of how ‘Padayappa’ was made and his memories with the late ‘Nadigar Thilagam’ Sivaji Ganesan and Ramya Krishnan.

Rajinikanth’s younger daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth, officially announced this re-release as a way to celebrate his 75th birthday (December 12). Reports indicate that the ticket bookings for the ‘Padayappa’ re-release are also taking place briskly.

‘Padayappa’ is a classic masterpiece that proved Rajinikanth’s skill as an actor and his power as a box office king. There is no doubt that watching this film on the big screen in 4K quality after 25 years will be an unforgettable experience for the fans.
