Superstar Rajinikanth reacts to Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s take on the ‘Sanghi’ term at the ‘Lal Salaam’ audio launch

On Republic Day (Jan 26), the music release of Aishwarya Rajinikanth's third directorial, 'Lal Salaam', took place in a grand ceremony in Chennai. The film is a political cricket drama starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth with Superstar Rajinikanth in a cameo.

While talking at the event, Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya mentioned that people on social media labelling the Superstar as a 'Sanghi' which means a supporter of the right-wing and unsecular ideology. She said that Rajinikanth is not a Sanghi and he wouldn't have done 'Lal Salaam' if he was one. Thalaivar is playing a Muslim in Lal Salaam reportedly.

Superstar Rajinikanth was at the Chennai airport today to fly to Andhra Pradesh for the shooting of 'Vettaiyan'. He met the press at the airport and opened up about Aishwarya's speech at the Lal Salaam event. Thalaivar said, "Aishwarya never said that 'Sanghi' is a bad word. Her point is that her father is a spiritual person and an admirer of all religions."

Then, he was asked if Aishwarya's speech was to promote the film at a national level, Rajinikanth responded that it was not the case. He further added that the 'Lal Salaam' final output is very good and it is a good film which talks about religious harmony. Produced by Lyca Productions, the upcoming movie hits the screens on February 9th.
