Superstar Rajinikanth was last seen on screen in the action packed revenge drama Petta directed by Karthik Subbaraj and was shooting next for his 167th movie Darbar directed by AR Murugadoss.

Produced by Lyca Productions, Darbar will have Superstar Rajinikanth playing a police officer after Pandian and will have him paired with lady superstar Nayanthara after Chandramukhi. The movie also stars Nivetha Thomas in a key role.

The team had been shooting in Mumbai for several months, and now it has been made official that the shoot has been wrapped and the movie will release worldwide on Pongal 2020. Darbar has music by Anirudh and also stars Suniel Shetty and Prateik Babbar.
