Before two years, Superstar Rajnikanth had made an announcement that he is entering politics soon, and that the details of the party and the flag will be announced later. With fans waiting for the announcement, he had recently met the members of Rajni Makkal Mandram

There were reports that Rajni wanted to manage the party and announce someone else as his party's CM candidate and this had disappointed RMM members. Earlier today, the actor had made a discussion with Rajni Makkal Mandram district secretaries through video conference and started to the Leela Palace for making the massive announcement on his political entry.

Superstar Rajnikanth said that his party will have 60-65% members below 50 years of age with reputation and social image and 35-40% people with reputation from other parties who did not get opportunities, advocates, judges, IAS, IPS retired officers and people with experience. Rajnikanth said that he wants to be a bridge for such people to get into the assembly and reach the throne. He made it clear that his party will have a separate leader and the person who will run the government (the Chief minister) will be a different person. Rajnikanth said that he has never imagined himself as a Chief minister and that not wanting to be a chief minister is not a political stunt, and he had said this in 2017 itself. Rajnikanth said that he admires leaders like Anna, and now there are no such leaders, adding that he wants a revolutionary movement to happen in politics and once he sees a change, he will enter politics.
