Superstar Rajnikanth's last release was Petta, the Karthik Subbaraj directorial with an ensemble cast including Trisha, Makkal Selvan VIjay Sethupathi, Simran and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and the movie emerged a blockbuster despite releasing alongside another biggie, Thala Ajith - Nayanthara's Viswasam.

With Petta turning out to be a profitable venture for distributors, theater owners and everyone concerned, Superstar Rajnikanth is all set to collaborate with AR Murugadoss for his 166th project, and this movie is said to be produced by Lyca productions.

Currently, the pre-production activities are in full swing, and it has been said that the movie will go on floors in March, and that the shoot is planned as a continuous 120 days schedule. The team has planned to release the movie on Pongal 2020, and just like Pongal 2019's festive release Petta, they are planning another festive treat for fans of Superstar Rajnikanth.
