Suriya the evergreen hero of Tamil cinema recently won the National Award for Best Actor and Best Film for his 'Soorarai Pottru' directed by Sudha Kongara which he also produced. Apart from his wife Jyothika's, brother Karthi's and his own films he also regularly produces and distributes meaningful cinema under his banner 2D Entertainment.

Suriya's latest productions 'Jai Bhim', 'Ramae Aandalum Ravanae Aandalum' and 'Oh My Dog' were critically acclaimed while 'Viruman' starring Karthi has turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the year.

It has been reported that Suriya has invested in a new business by acquiring the two wheeler and four wheeler parking contract of several airports in India including Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Madurai and Trichy. It is said to be a very lucrative business with potential of a couple of hundreds of crores turnover every year. However the source of this news is unconfirmed and no official word is out at the moment.

On the movie front Suriya has started shooting for his next two part mega flick 'Suriya 42' directed by Siruthai Siva and jointly produced by Studio Green and UV Creations. The film has Disha Patani as the female lead while Devi Sri Prasad scores the music. Early next year he will resume shooting of Bala's 'Vanangaan' and later move on to 'Vaadivaasal' directed by Vetrimaaran and possibly 'Kaithi 2' costarring Karthi and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
