With Suriya's 'Thaana Serndha Koottam' bankrolled by Studio Green about to release this Pongal,a case was filed on the film saying the story was fabricated from the Bollywood hit 'Special 26'. 

Reportedly, actor Prasanth's mother Shanthi Thyagarajan had bought the rights for the film and filed the complaint. However, after G.E.Gnanavel Raja proved that he had bought the rights from RP company, the Chennai High Court lifted the ban off the film's release.

So fans can be as excited as before as 'Thaana Serndha Koottam' will hit the screens this Pongal on January 12.
