Kaappaan to arrive on special date?

Actor Suriya is gearing up for his next release NGK, the political entertainer directed by acclaimed maker Selvaraghavan and costarring Sai Pallavi, Rakul Preet Singh and Jagapathi Babu, and the movie's teaser is set to release on February 14. Produced by Dream Warrior pictures, NGK is expected to be a Tamil New Year release.
On the other hand, Suriya is currently shooting for Kaappaan, his third movie with director KV Anand after the blockbuster Ayan and Maattrraan, and this movie is progressing in a rapid pace. Also starring Mohanlal, Arya, Sayyeshaa, Samuthirakani and Boman Irani in pivotal roles, the movie is produced by Lyca Productions.
The latest speculation making rounds is that, team Kaappaan is planning to release the movie on August 15. As Suriya plays an NSG Commando and Mohanlal plays the Indian Prime minister, and with Kaappaan having a patriotic flavour with Suriya protecting the nation, it is said that the team is considering an Independence day release to be apt. It is to be seen if Kaappaan team makes an official announcement in this regard.
