Actress Meera Mitun has been trying hard to gain media limelight by posting derogatory messages against Suriya, Jyothika, Vijay and others.  She had particularly called Suriya a product of nepotism and that he is a nonactor who goes for a number of takes while she completed her portions in a single take when costarring in 'Thaana Serndha Koottam'. The concerned stars totally ignored her even though there were many voices among seniors to condemn the self-professed supermodel's irrational behavior.

Director Bharathiraja on Monday became the first top celebrity to slam Meera Mitun calling her immature and that she should stop attention-seeking by tarnishing the image of the top stars.  He further added that Vijay and Suriya in spite of the glamourous temptations in their fields have lead respectable married lives for long years and the care they take to set the correct example.

Suriya for the first time has reacted to Meera Mitun in his unique and decent style writing in Tamil "My wish is for my brothers and sisters (fans) to spend their time and energy in constructive endeavours.  My heartfelt thanks to Iyakkunar Imayam Bharathiraja."

Suriya also pointed out to an early post he made in 2018 which also in Tamil translates to "Let us not react to cheap criticisms and lower our own esteem.  Please spend you time and energy usefully for the good of the society".  This advice was apparently for the fans reaction to negative criticisms on the movie 'Thaana Serndha Kottam' directed by Vignesh Shivan.
