Suriya and Gautham Menon is easily on of the most admired hero-director combination of Tamil cinema. Gautham's 'Kaakha Kaakha' was an important turning point in Suriya's career as an actor and 'Vaaranam Aayiram' is a critically acclaimed super hit which is still being considered as the most favourite film by the fans of the actor as well as the director.

The duo was supposed to reunite for the third time for 'Dhruva Natchathiram' and the film was also launched with a Pooja in May 2013. But to the shock of everyone Suriya announced with a Press statement that he is walking out of the project. "I only do films if I like the story. I quite liked Gautham`s story, but requested him to tweak it a little. But I waited for six months and I still waiting. Unfortunately, my wait has ended in (vain), therefore I`m pulling out of this project"

This left a scar in the relationship between the versatile actor and the stylish director who shared a good personal friendship. Gautham last year observed that he was hurt by Suriya deciding to part ways with him despite knowing his film-making style .ALSO READ: "Vijay did not Hurt me, but Suriya..." Gautham Menon

However now the duo are apparently buried the hatchet and they are also in talks for a reunion, as confirmed by Gautham in his interviews during the release of his latest super hit 'Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada' in November 2016.

Now Suriya has opened up for the first time about the entire episode in his New Year special interview to a Tamil Satellite channel.

Suriya has regretted sending such a statement against Gautham and he confirmed that he is in the process of rectifying the damage caused by his statement. .

The 'Singam' star also revealed that music director Harris Jayaraj who gave evergreen chartbuster songs for both 'Kaakha Kaakha' and 'Varanaym Aayiram' facilitated a meeting after a long time and they have decided to do a film together.

Suriya is presently shooting for his 35th film 'Thaana Serndha Koottam' and his 36th film will be with director Selvaraghavan.

It looks likely that the hearthrob of young girls will team up with Gautham Menon for his 37th film.
