With the release date of Suriya's much-awaited film Retro set for May 1st, the promotional campaign has kicked into high gear—and it’s anything but ordinary.
Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film recently wrapped up shooting, and post-production is nearly complete. Ahead of its grand audio and trailer launch at Nehru Stadium in Chennai on April 18, the makers have taken a bold new approach to promotion—by transforming a Tambaram electric train into a moving billboard for Retro.
The entire train has been decked out with posters of the film, leaving daily commuters surprised and excited. Videos of the train, released by 2D Entertainment, have gone viral, with fans applauding the creativity and calling the stunt “next-level promotion.”
The film stars Pooja Hegde opposite Suriya, with Joju George, Karunakaran, and Jayaram playing pivotal roles. The project boasts a strong technical team including Santhosh Narayanan (music), Shreya Krishna (cinematography), Jackson (art direction), Praveen Raja (costume design), Jayika (stunts), and Shafiq Mohammed Ali (editing).
Jointly produced by 2D Entertainment and Stonebench, Retro promises to be a stylish, high-energy film—and if the promotions are any hint, the ride is just getting started.
All aboard for the #Retro ride 🚆🔥
