Actor Suriya was last seen on screen in the Selvaraghavan directorial political thriller NGK co-starring Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh, and the movie recently completed its 25th day in theaters. Suriya is now working on Kaappaan and Soorarai Pottrum, his upcoming big movies.

The actor, who runs a trust that helps people named Agaram, has now voiced out on the New education policy, urging people to speak out on the same. The actor has posted a note on his social media handle. The note read "An educational policy that is going to determine the future of 30 crores Indian students has been released, and the debates and discussions on the same has not gained attention. What is to be done to give equal education for all? Is entrance exam necessary for higher education? Is there clarity on the language policy?" questioned the actor.

The actor further has said "With so many questions like these, does the new educational policy have the answer for the same? We all have opinion on education but on the education policy we move silently without voicing out, and this silence will impact our children. Parents must know about this policy and voice out before June 30, on the points which are okay and not okay in the policy. Let us speak on this on social media and get clarifications form TN educational experts". Education is our weapon, education is our shield, concluded Suriya.
