Karthi wasn't the first choice for Kaithi!

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj who had made his debut with Managaram is all set to arrive with his second movie Kaithi which is produced by Dream Warrior pictures and this movie is announced to be a Diwali release.

Kaithi has Karthi playing the lead role and the movie is said to be revolving around a jailbreak incident happening over a single night. The movie also stars Narain, Vatsan, Dheena, George and debutant Arjun Das as villain.

Lokesh Kanagaraj has revealed that his initial choice to play the lead role was actor Mansoor Ali Khan but only later he developed the story and cast Karthi in the movie. Kaithi has music by Sam CS and doesn't have a female lead.
