Vijayalakshmi won the title of the Tamil Version of America's popular reality show Survivor which aired for the first time in Tamil on Zee Tamil TV. The reality show was hosted by Action King Arjun.

Survivor Tamil started its first season on 12th September 2021 with 16 initial contestants and 2 more players were added as the wildcard entries. On the challenging island, 18 competitors were divided into two groups named Kadargal and Vedargal.

The contestants were allowed to cast their votes to select and remove who is the ‘Survivor’ among themselves. The survivor of the show is the one who overcomes the tough challenges given to them in the competition.

 From them,  top 5 finalists Vijayalakshmi, Vanessa, Saran, Umapathy and Narayanan of this first season competed in the final knockout challenge to become the winner of Survivor Tamil.  On Friday 10th December 2021, Vijayalakshmi became the 1st finalist. Later the top 3 finalists competed in the final battle and from them, Vijayalakshmi was declared as the winner of this season based on the jury votes.
