Writers Pushkar & Gayatri impressed audiences with their gripping storytelling in Suzhal: The Vortex, a murder-mystery thriller set against the backdrop of rural politics and a cultural festival. The first season, released in 2021, received widespread acclaim. After three years, the highly anticipated second season premiered on Prime Video on February 28, available in five languages with subtitles. The series consists of eight episodes, exploring themes of deception, relationships, human trafficking, child abuse, revenge, and redemption.

Synopsis: Nandini (Aishwarya Rajesh) is close to being acquitted for Guna’s murder, with Lawyer Chellappa (Lal) defending her. Sakkarai (Kathir) accompanies Chellappa to his home for the Ashtakaali festival. The next morning, Chellappa is found dead in his farmhouse with a gunshot wound, and Muthu (Gouri Kishan) is discovered locked inside a cupboard with the gun. What seems like a closed-door murder takes a shocking turn when eight women confess to the crime.
Performances and Analysis: The cast delivers commendable performances, with Kathir and Aishwarya Rajesh leading the narrative. Manjima Mohan provides a surprising twist.
