Actress Swara Bhaskar has commented on the controversy circling around a scene in Mira Nair's miniseries 'A Suitable Boy'. The scene in question features Tanya Maniktala and Danesh Razvi's characters Lata and Kabir sharing a kiss inside a temple. Apparently the did hurt religious values of few people who are now demanding to boycott Netflix.

In her recent tweet, Swara Bhaskar said that, “If the actual #Kathua gangrape of an 8 year old child inside a temple didn’t make your blood boil and soul shrivel; you have no right to be offended about a fictionalised depiction of a kiss in a temple." She was referring to the infamous Kathua rape case where a little girl was sedated and raped before being killed brutally.

A Suitable Boy, based on Vikram Seth’s bestselling novel of the same name, also stars Ishaan Khatter, Tabu, Ram Kapoor and Rasika Dugal, among others.
