The talented actress, Swarnamalya is equally an accomplished classical dancer. She would be rendering a Bharathanatyam recital titled 'Sri Valli' in Chennai on the 27th of November. The event is organized by Ranga Mandira Trust.

Swarnamalya who has conceptualized and choreographed this dance drama says, 'the divine marriages of Gods has been told and retold several times through our literature, scripts, poetry and performing arts. As a researcher of dance, I looked for the deep spiritual reasons as far as these marriages go. In fact the marriages appear quite normal to the modern and un-searching eye'.

This creation, by its name and vintage appeal is a dedication to the classic Tamil film Sri Valli produced in the 1940s by AVM starring Sri T R Mahalingam.
