T V actress arrested in bomb blast case

On Wednesday there was a grenade blast near a mall on Zoo road in Guwahati in which 12 people including two Service Selection Board (SSB) members were injured. The Assam police quickly went into action and within 24 hours arrested a Jahnabi Saikia a television actress and Pranamoy Rajguru a United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) leader.
The cops received information that three people involved in the blast were staying at a house in Panjabari area and commissioner Deepak Kumar led the team and made the arrests and seized 35 rounds of bullets, 40 kg explosives, a 9mm pistol and gelatin sticks.
Forty-year-old actress Jahnabi Saikia has told the police that she has two children and her further statement is withheld by the department due to security reasons.
