How much prize money did each team get at the T20 World Cup 2021?

The Australian team, led by Aaron Finch, defeated New Zealand by eight wickets on Sunday to secure the T20 World Cup title for the first time. As per an announcement made by the International Cricket Council (ICC) ahead of the tournament, Australia will receive Rs 11.9 crore, in addition to earning Rs 1.2 crore for winning four of their five Super 12 matches.

Kane Williamson led New Zealand, after emerging as the runners up of the tournament, will receive a prize money of Rs 5.95 crore, besides receiving Rs 1.2 crore, also for winning four of their five Super 12 matches. The semi finalists of the T20 World Cup, Pakistan and England, will be getting Rs 3 crore each. Additionally, Pakistan will receive an amount of Rs 1.5 crore for winning all five of their matches in the Super 12 stages, while England will receive Rs 1.2 Crores for winning four out of their five Super 12 matches.

Apart from these four teams, each team that qualified for the Super 12 stages, including South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Bangladesh from Group A, and India, Afghanistan, Namibia, and Scotland from Group B, will receive an amount of Rs 52 Lakh, in addition to receiving Rs 30 lakh for each win posted in the Super 12 stages of the World Cup. Hence, the Indian team, led by Virat Kohli, will receive a total of Rs 1.42 crore (with earnings of Rs 90 lakh from winning three matches in the Super 12 stages.)

The four teams that played the T20 World Cup qualifiers but did not qualify for the Super 12 stages, including Oman, Papua New Guinea, Ireland, and The Netherlands, will each receive a sum of Rs 30 lakh, and an additional Rs 30 lakh for each win posted in the qualifying stages of the tournament.
