Taapsee Pannu almost rejected 'Looop Lapeta' for this reason

Actress Taapsee Pannu is all set for the release of her comic thriller flick 'Looop Lapeta' where she'll be seen sharing screen with actor Tahir Raj Bhasin. In a recent chat with a news outlet, Taapsee revealed that she was initially sceptical about taking up the project. 'Looop Lapeta' is the remake of a German film 'Run Lola Run'and the plot features a woman trying to save her boyfriend while being stuck in a time loop.

I said yes to it (Looop Lapeta) instantly because it was so funny. Today, it makes you feel that this concept was made for India more than the German classic that it was. Hence, I ended up saying yes. The film is a clutter-breaking take on new age romance, a genre I am exploring for the first time, Taapsee told PTI.

Taapsee also recalled that she was initially reluctant to take up the project since she had already done a film about time loop. She said, I had done a film called ‘Game Over’, which had something similar in it. I didn’t want to repeat a concept in another film so I went with the intention to say no. I told the producer Atul (Kasbekar) that I haven’t seen the original film but I know the basic storyline and concept. But he told me to just hear out (the script). And if it still seems similar and if I don’t want to do it, then it is okay.

Directed by Akash Bhatia, 'Looop Lapeta' will release on 4th of February exclusively on Netflix. .
