Tabu's return as lead heroine after 3 years

  • IndiaGlitz, [Saturday,February 03 2007]

Selective about the films that she does, Tabu was last seen as a lead heroine in 'Maqbool' and 'Meenaxi', both of which came in the first half of 2004. Since then, she has relatively been on a hiatus with one off performances like 'Silsillay' [2006] and 'Fanaa' [2006].

Now with 'Cheeni Kum', she would be seen in a role of substance once again as she is paired opposite none other than Amitabh Bachchan. Touted to be a heartwarming love story with dollops of light hearted moments and some witty sequences, 'Cheeni Kum' is catching on heat both within and outside and the industry and is keenly looked forward by the audience.

The film is a love story of a Chef played by Big B who falls in love with the character played by Tabu, a regular at his restaurant. How the two take their love story forward and try to culminate their relationship into marriage if what director Balakrishnan tries to convey through 'Cheeni Kum'.

Produced by Sunil Manchanda, the film is aiming for a March release.
