The Taliban has reportedly said that the organization supports the reelection of Donald Trump for his second tenure as the President of USA. One of its leaders Zabihullah Mujahid has stated "When we heard about Trump being COVID-19 positive, we got worried for his health, but seems he is getting better, Trump might be ridiculous for the rest of the world, but he is sane and wise man for the Taliban."

The Taliban has been one of the arch enemies of the US after their terrorists attacked the twin towers that held the World Trade Center and other organizations in New York City by flying two airplanes into them killing 2,977 and injuring twenty-five thousand. The US retaliated by airstriking Afghanistan to smoke out the Al Qaeda mastermind Osam Bin Laden who was killed later.

This gesture of the Taliban comes after Trump's recent announcement that he would be withdrawing most of the American soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. However the Trump administration has rejected the support.

Tim Murtaugh, the communications director of Trump's reelection has stated "We reject their support and the Taliban should know that the President will always protect American interests by any means necessary, unlike Joe Biden who opposed taking out Osama bin Laden and Qassem Soleimani,"
