Tamil film director and producers arrested

Tamil film director Ramki Ramakrishnan and producers Vijay Padma and her husband Muthukrishnan were absconding for several months following a cheating case filed by financier Ashok. The trio was found and arrested on February 27th and have been lodged in the Puzhal jail in Chennai.

Ramki Ramakrishnan debuted with the film 'Kamarkattu' and started producing and directing 'Idhayam Thiraiarangam' with Vijay Padma and her husband Muthukrishnan as co-producers. The trio reportedly procured a loan of rupees forty lakhs from financier Ashok who lives in the Sowcarpet area in Chennai. The loan amount and the interest was not paid back and hence they have been jailed.
