The official updates for COVID 19 are once again shocking as 600 new patients have tested positive in the last twenty-four hours out of which a shocking one third is from Chennai where 399 have been affected.   There are now a staggering 6009 patients in the state with half the number 3043 in Chennai alone and the death toll is now 40 after two people losing their lives in the capital and one in Tirunelveli.  Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar has stated that the mortality rate in Tamil Nadu is 0.68%.

A total of 1605 people have been discharged till date including 58 today.  Totally 216,416 tests have been conducted out of which 13,980 have been done today alone making TN the highest in testing in the country.
