Tamil Nadu Weatherman predicts intense rainfall for Chennai

The Tamil Nadu Weatherman aka Pradeep John has predicted that tonight will mark the beginning of active spells of rain in the city. Stating that an active rain spell associated with the monsoon lasts about 3 or 4 days, the independant weatherman also noted that the last spell gave rains for a continuous 9 days.
He has also opined that the rains which begin today will continue until the coming Wednesday with intermittent breaks. He also cautioned that some spells might be very intense around the regions surrounding Chennai, Kancheepuram and Thiruvallur.
Apart from this, he also added that interior districts such as Vellore, Vizhupuram, and other coastal districts such as Pondicherry, Karaikkal, Nagai and Thiruvarur may also get rains.
