Tamilisai Soundararajan, the new Governor of Telangana

The Centre has taken a surprising decision by appointing Tamil Nadu BJP president Tamilisai Soundararajan as the new Governor of Telangana. The 58-year-old woman was a doctor and an assistant professor before becoming a politician. A prominent saffron leader in Tamil Nadu, she lost two Assembly and two Lok Sabha elections.

Bandaru Dattatreya, the Telangana BJP man, has become the new Governor of Himachal Pradesh.

Arif Mohammed Khan is the new Governor of Kerala, while Bhagat Singh Koshyari is that of Maharashtra. Kalraj Mishra is the new Governor of Rajasthan.
