'Kumki' directed by Prabhu Solomon and produced by N. Linguswamy caused a sensation on release in 2012 for its unique storyline and the dashing debut of Vikram Prabhu as the hero Bomman.  The film went on to become a blockbuster and the director is currently shooting its sequel in Thailand with new faces.

Vasanth Ravi, who has debuted as a hero in Ram’s 'Taramani' has garnered praises from all sections for his brilliant portrayal.  He has revealed that he was the original choice for the lead role in 'Kumki' and also did a photo shoot for the film but lost out due to some unforeseen circumstances.  He however has stated that he is still in touch with Prabhu Solomon, who has assured that they will work in a future project.
