TDP leader N Siva Prasad passes away

Former parliamentarian and senior TDPian N Siva Prasad on Saturday passed away at the age of 68. He had been undergoing treatment for a kidney-related ailment at the famous Apollo Hospital in Chennai. Only a day before, former AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu had visited him to wish him well after being on life support for 9 days.

Born in 1951 at Pottipalle village in Chittoor district, Siva Prasad graduated in Medicine from Tirupathi's SV Medical College. He joined theatre after discovering his passion for acting. He eventually entered the Telugu film industry and turned a director. His directorials include 'Tulasi', 'Prema Thapasu', etc. Siva Prasad was seen in villainous roles in a number of films.

He was the MP of Chittoor before losing to YSRCP in the recent Lok Sabha elections. He had won as MP twice, in 2009 and 2014. Siva Prasad's penchant for donning different get-ups to protest for Special Category Status for AP in the premises of Parliament is well-known.
