Teachers protest, Education minister Reddy urge

The school, Pre University and College teachers’ salary and promotion to aided institutions are not met before the 13th of this month, from 14th the school and colleges related to it will be closed down.

The aided and non aided schools and colleges, lecturers, principals, non teaching staff board went on a protest in front of Gandhi statue for the whole night on Wednesday to register the protest to meet the demands.

There are 13 representatives from Teachers and Graduate categories in different political parties in legislative council as members. Irrespective of political party they represent should take up the urgent cause to give solution says the protestors.

The education minister Basavaraja Rayareddy visited the location of protestors and urged for 15 days time to discuss the issue with chief minister. He also urged the protestors to take back the Dharna. Legislative Council head DH Shankar Murthy and primary and higher education minister Tanvir Sait tried to pacify the protests. They all went in vain.
The protestors listed seven demands to be met on or before 13th of September.
