The All-India Senior Selection Committee of the BCCI announced team India's 18-member squad for the upcoming three-match One-day International (ODI) series against England.

The ODIs are scheduled to begin on March 23 and all three matches are going to be held in Pune behind closed doors due to rising cases of Covid-19 in Maharashtra. The BCCI has included debutants Suryakumar Yadav, Prasidh Krishna and Krunal Pandya to the side, placing high expectations on all of them. Suryakumar Yadav's magnificent performance in his second T20I match with a score of 57 off 31 against England last night helped the team reach a target of 185. Krunal Pandya and pacer Prasidh Krishna have been included in the team owing to the good form they exhibited in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare trophy. Jasprit Bumrah, who opted out of the fourth Test and the T20I series to prepare for his wedding, is not part of the ODI squad either.

Despite losing the opening Test match against England in Chennai, India went on to win the Test series. Following their victory against England in the fourth T20I match, the series is currently levelled 2-2. The fifth T20I will be held on March 20 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India's ODI squad: Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), KL Rahul (wicket-keeper), Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Md. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur.
