Tollywood’s young hero Teja Sajja has scored another big win at the box office. His latest film Mirai, which released on September 12, opened to a positive response from both critics and audiences, registering an impressive Rs.12 crore nett on its opening day across India, according to trade trackers.

The Telugu version proved to be the backbone of this success, contributing a massive ?11 crore nett from the Telugu states alone—accounting for nearly 90% of the film’s total day-one earnings. This strong debut marks yet another milestone for Teja Sajja, who had already delivered a blockbuster with Hanu Man last year.

The Hindi version of Mirai managed just over ?1 crore nett, while the Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions saw only minimal to negligible collections.

Blending mythology, action, and superhero elements, Mirai narrates the story of a young warrior entrusted with protecting nine sacred scriptures said to hold the power of immortality. The unique theme, coupled with high-octane visuals, has resonated well with Telugu audiences.

With positive word-of-mouth and a growing buzz among moviegoers, industry experts expect the film’s collections to rise significantly over the weekend. If the trend continues, Mirai is well on track to emerge as one of the biggest hits of the season.
