Telangana: Seized vehicles to be returned to owners immediately

The DGP of Telangana on Friday issued orders to Police Commissioners and SPs to release all the vehicles that have been seized for violations during the lockdown. The vehicle owners will be asked to pay a specified fee and submit documents. The release of the vehicles will happen within 7 days.

The CPs and SPs in the State are instructed to return the seized vehicles to vehicle owners IMMEDIATELY under proper acknowledgement, the order says.

The vehicle owners shall also submit in writing a declaration or undertaking for producing the vehicles in the court, if required, wherever necessary. The entire process shall be completed in a time-bound manner within next week in a transparent manner, the order further writes.
