There has been criticism that Telugu films have an increasing number of song lyrics, dance movements, and dialogues that degrade women. Recently, movies like 'Thakku Maharaj' starring Balakrishna and Urvashi Rautela, and 'Mr. Bachchan' featuring Ravi Teja and Bhagyashri Borse, were called out for such elements. Even upcoming films like 'Robin Hood' have faced similar complaints concerning their songs and dance sequences. This issue has reached the Telangana Women's Commission through formal complaints.

Following this, the Women's Commission released a statement highlighting concerns over the portrayal of women through vulgar dance movements and disrespectful lyrics. The report mentions that cinema is a powerful medium that influences society, and therefore, such degrading content is a matter of concern. It urged directors, producers, and choreographers to act responsibly. The commission also issued a warning that strict action will follow if this concern is not taken seriously. The statement further emphasized that the film industry has a moral responsibility to deliver positive messages and uphold women's dignity.
