Thala Ajith was last seen on screen in H Vinoth's Ner konda Paarvai, the Tamil remake of the 2016 Bollywood hit Pink, and the movie which was produced by Boney Kapoor received critical acclaim as well as commercial success.

Now Ajith is acting in Valimai, an action thriller where he'll be seen as a police officer and this movie directed by H Vinoth also stars Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya, Yogi Babu and is being filmed in Hyderabad.

The latest buzz is that Ajith's next movie might be directed by Sudha Kongara of Soorarai Pottru, Irudhi Suttru fame and that this project might be produced by Sree Gokulam films Gokulam Gopalan, known for producing movies like Thoongavanam and Dhanusu Raasi neyargalae. However there has been no official announcement yet, and a clarification on this speculation is awaited.
