Superstar Rajinikanth's new movie 'Thalaivar 169' is in hectic pre-production with the team planning to begin shooting in a couple of months time. The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar with music by Anirudh and produced on a grand scale by Sun Pictures.

It was earlier reported that Sivakarthikeyan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Vadivelu, Yogi Babu and Redin Kingsley are a part of 'Thalaivar 169' cast though nothing is officially confirmed yet. Now the hot news that is doing the rounds in Kollywood is that veteran actress Ramya Krishnan has signed on to play a powerful role in the film.

It is worth recalling that Ramya Krishnan almost stole the thunder from Rajinikanth in their previous film together 'Padaiyappa' released in the year 1999. She played the chief antagonist Neelambari in the film which not only started her second innings in South Indian cinema but also won her several awards.

Though the involvement of Ramya Krishnan in 'Thalaivar 169' is also not official yet fans can look forward to more confrontations between her and Rajini that too in Nelson's dark humour style.
