Vijay's new movie 'Thalapathy 67' has been trending every day ever since the director Lokesh Kanagaraj hinted at it after the release of 'Vikram' almost eight months back. There have been speculations galore about the cast and crew while directors Mysskin and Gautham Vasudev Menon confirmed that they are part of the cast.

During the promotions for the upcoming movie 'Michael' starring Sundeep Kishan at a college in Coimbatore, Lokesh Kanagaraj let out the big reveal that the official updates on 'Thalapathy 67' will be out on February 1st. 2nd and 3rd. However earlier today Seven Screen Studios out of the blue shared on Twitter that an official announcement will come at 6.07pm this evening.

Seven Screen Studios as promised has officially announced that 'Thalapathy 67' is bankrolled by them. This is the third collaboration between Vijay and producer Lalit Kumar after 'Master' (Co-production with Xavier Britto), 'Varisu' (Tamil Nadu theatrical) and now 'Thalapathy 67' (Co-production with Jagadish Palanisamy.

The press statement has confirmed that Lokesh Kanagaraj is directing the film with Anirudh on board as music director. This combo with Vijay is coming together for the second time after 'Master'. It has been confirmed that Manoj Paramahamsa is the DOP, Philomin Raj the editor, Anbariv the stunt choreographers, Dinesh the dance choreographer and Art Sathees Kumar.

Lokesh Kanagaraj, Rathnakumar and Dheeraj Vaidi have jointly written the dialogues for 'Thalapathy 67'. The statement also confirmed that the shooting has begun and is progressing from January 2nd. The rest of the cast details is expected from February 1st. Stay tuned.
