The Madras High Court has fined Thalapathy Vijay rupees one lakh and has ordered him to pay the amount as a contribution to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Corona Relief Fund.  This is in connection with a case filed by Vijay seeking entry tax exemption for his imported luxury car.

Vijay on many occasions has let out that he has a craze for cars and has an impressive collection of vintage as well as modern mean machines that include BMW Mini Cooper, Toyota Innova, Audi A8 and Rolls Royce Ghost.

In 2012 Vijay bought his Rolls Royce Car and it was then that he filed for the entry tax exemption and the judgement has come now.  Justice S.M. Subramaniam in his order has criticised that leading heroes should act so in real life too.  He added that its unacceptable that the actors portray roles highlighting social justice in their movies but evade tax in reality.

On the professional front, Thalapathy Vijay has resumed shooting for his new mega flick 'Beast' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures which is going on in Chennai on specially erected grand sets.  Pooja Hegde is the female lead while Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, and others play important characters.  Anirudh is scoring the music and Manoj Paramahamsa is handling the camera for this much-awaited new age thriller.
