Whoa! Thalapathy Vijay's Leo sets an all-time opening record in Kollywood - Official

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj's latest release, 'Leo', is the most prestigious film in Thalapathy Vijay's career. This project garnered unprecedented hype even before its official announcement and the anticipation grew bigger and bigger towards the release, making it one of the biggest releases for a Tamil film ever.

We already informed you that Leo is looking at a mammoth opening day gross breaking all the existing records. After phenomenal pre-sales, the official box office numbers of Day 1 are here. Seven Screen Studio took to social media and dropped a new poster to announce that Leo has collected more than 148.5 crores worldwide from all languages.

Leo is now the highest opening day grosser of 2023 in Indian cinema besting Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' and 'Pathaan'. After 'RRR', 'Baahubali 2' and 'KGF Chapter 2', Leo is the fourth-best Day 1 worldwide grosser in Indian cinema. The Thalapathy Vijay starrer becomes the highest all-time opening day grosser in Kollywood ever.

As per sources, Leo has collected around 40 crores in Tamil Nadu while the other states stand - 12 crores in Kerala, 14 crores in Karnataka, 16 crores in Telugu states and 4.5 crores in Hindi on Day 1. Thalapathy Vijay becomes the only actor in India to register more than 10 crores gross in all four Southern markets in a single day. At this range, Leo's opening weekend gross will be par with previous Tamil biggies' lifetime collection.
