Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam files a police complaint over an unpleasant incident on Captain Vijayakanth death day

It is common knowledge that Thalapathy Vijay carries out philanthropic activities through his fan club turned non-profit organisation, Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. Now, VMI has filed a complaint with the police on behalf of the actor over an unfortunate incident that happened when Vijay went to pay last respects to Vijayakanth.

Captain Vijayakanth passed away on December 28th, 2023. Thalapathy Vijay went in person and paid his last respects to the veteran at the DMDK headquarters. Reportedly, a slipper was thrown at the actor when he was returning to his car amid the crowd. Photos and videos of this unpleasant incident went viral on the internet.

Appanu, the leader of VMI in T Nagar, filed a police complaint regarding this issue and this is now doing rounds on social media. The petition read, "On the 28th of last month, Thalapathy Vijay visited Vijaykanth's wedding hall in Koyambedu, Chennai at around 10.30 pm to mourn the death of Captain Vijayakanth.

An unknown person threw a slipper at Thalapathy Vijay. This has hurt the hearts of all of Thalapathy Vijay's fans and admirers all over Tamil Nadu. I humbly request you to find the person involved in this disgusting act and take legal action against him."
