Politics is going to take the front seat for the next month or so as the Lok Sabha election fever has gripped the nation.  Here at home in Tamil Nadu Kollywood is very much in the mix as several celebs including Kamal Haasan, Manzoor Ali Khan, Seeman are in the fray.

Meanwhile the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, Madurai head S.R. Thangapandi has met the Marxist Communist candidate for Madurai, S.Venkatesan and has offered support.  Venkatesan is a Sahitya Academy Award-winning writer and social activist who has been vociferously fighting for the recognition of the Keezhadi archeological site as a symbol of Tamil culture.  

Venkatesan's party is in the DMK-Congress front and is a favorite to win Madurai due to his clean image and now that the Vijay fans have also extended their support its a clear advantage to him according to political analysts.
