Following the success of Bigil, Vijay is currently busy with the shoot of Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

The first look poster of the movie was released on New Year's eve, much to the delight of the fans. The blurry poster has led people to believe that Vijay's character in the movie might be associated with alcoholism, but it cannot be confirmed supposedly until the movie's release. Even though the second look poster and Vijay Sethupathi's look in the movie haven't been released yet, a character look of Vijay Sethupathi has surfaced online. While many users have started speculating that it is the actor's look in Master, it is merely a rumour. There has been no official confirmation of the same from the team.

Malavika Mohanan has signed up to play the female lead in Master, while 'Kaithi' star Arjun Das, Andrea, and Shanthanu Bhagyaraj are also playing significant roles in the film. Produced by Xavier Britto of XB Film Creators, Master will have music composed by Anirudh.
