Thalapathy Vijay's film is the biggest ever in Tamil cinema

Thalapathy Vijay's blockbuster hit 'Mersal' has apparently raked in the highest collection ever in Tamil cinema history in the Coimbatore area. According to Tirupur Subramaniam the leading distributor and theater owner Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' had held the record collecting 7Crores in the territory.
Vijay's 'Mersal' directed by Atlee has almost collected Rupees 12.5 Crores which is almost double the figures of 'Kabali'. The mass commercial entertainer is already on top of Vijay fans lists and this news from the distributor is sure to get them on a high again even as 'Thalapathy62' shooting has begun and is underway now.
