Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' to the rescue of theatre owners

The Producers Council has officially announced that there will be no new releases from this weekend, the 2nd of March as the standoff with the Digital Service Providers continues in a deadlock. Many films like 'Kee', 'Tik Tik Tik', 'Thittam Pottu Thirudara Koottam' and others have been affected and many more will be if the strike continues into next week.
Reports coming in suggests that theatres in some centers across Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru are re-releasing Thalapathy Vijay's blockbuster movie 'Mersal' from tomorrow. The film directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Films has Vijay in triple roles with Nithya Menen, Samantha and Kajal Agarwal as the leading ladies and A.R.Rahman providing chartbuster songs.
