Thalapathy Vijay according to trade circles is one of the most bankable superstars in South Indian cinema. He also long enjoyed the enviable fan following ranging from toddlers to senior citizens. In recent times the charismatic star is also being percieved as a political leader by his fans and also by other political parties.

The Vijay Makkal Iyakkam has been registering considerable wins in the local body elections giving rise to speculations that it could turn out to be a major force in the 2024 general elections in Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile there were reports in the media that Vijay secretly met famous political strategist Prashant Kishor and discussed the possibility of entering politics. Kishor's company I-PAC is credited for drawing ingenuous strategies that helped Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal CM Mamatha Banerjee and Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin to gain power.

However sources close to Thalapathy Vijay have clarified that no such meeting took place between the busy star and the strategist and he has no intention of involving in active politics in the near future.

Vijay's next movie 'Beast' directed by Nelson and produced by Sun Pictures is all set to release on April 13th. He will also reportedly start shooting his next 'Thalapathy 66' directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju from April 2nd on the auspicious Ugadhi festival day.
