Thalapathy Vijay fans had a pretty disappointing 2020 as this is the only year in which the mass hero's movies have not released in his nearly three decades career. However the 'Master' posters, audio launch, 'Kutty Story', 'Vaathi Coming' and the teaser compensated for it and became trendsetters on all social media platforms.

Now to crown it all Twitter India has announced that the selfie that Vijay posted after completing his shooting of 'Master' in Neyveli with his fans in the background has become the most retweeted in 2020.

It may be recalled that in earlier this year there were income tax raids in Vijay's properties in Chennai and he had to break from the shooting in Neyveli and return after four days. The IT department had given a clean chit to the star stating that there were no disparities in his accounts.

It was on February 10th that the shooting schedule of 'Master' ended in Neyveli and fans had gathered in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the megastar. Vijay obliged by getting on to a van and waving at them and then took the famous selfie and posted it on Twitter, captioning it "Thank You Neyveli". The rest as they say has created history for sure.

'Master' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj with Anirudh scoring the music has Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi lock horns on screen for the first time with Malavika Mohanan, Andrea, Jeremiah, Shantanu Bhagyaraj, and Arjun Das in the cast. The trailer of the film is expected to land on January 1st 2021 and if all goes well the worldwide release will be on January 13th ahead of the Pongal holidays.
