Thalapathy Vijay's 'Vaarasudu' will hit the screens for Sankranthi next year. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, its post-production works are on.

The news is that the filmmakers have been served a show cause notice by the Animal Welfare Board of India. Apparently, the team of the film had not obtained prior permission for using elephants in the shoot. As per the rules, it is illegal to use certain animals mentioned in the law for performative purposes without the prior consent of concerned authorities.

The animals used in film shoots have to be fit for the purpose. Their fitness must be certified by a vet doctor. The physical health of the animal and the nature of the performance for which it is used have to be mentioned in the application. But no application was made by the makers of 'Vaarasudu'.

The film, produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateshwara Creations, stars Rashmika Mandanna as the heroine.
