Thalapathy Vijay's next film 'Varisu' is on the right track for a grand release on Pongal 2023. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations, the family entertainer will star Rashmika Mandanna opposite Vijay in the Tamil-Telugu bilingual.

The trusted sources tell us that Amazon Prime has bagged the 'Varisu' theatrical rights for a whopping sum. Reportedly, the streaming giant's deal for Varisu is the highest cost for a Tamil film's OTT deal till date. On the other hand, Anbuchezian's Gopuram Cinemas acquired the theatrical distribution rights of the movie in Tamil Nadu. Varisu will hit the silver screens on January 13.

Recently, the producers took to social media to update us that they are in the final stage of production and the last schedule of the shooting begins on September 25. Only 2 action sequences and 2 songs are yet to be shot according to the official report. The makers are now filming the last leg of the movie in Ennore Port, Chennai.

Varisu also stars Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, Shaam, Srikanth, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Khushbu, Jayasudha, Sangeetha, Samyuktha and others in pivotal roles. Thaman composes the musical score while Karthick Palani handles the cinematography and Praveen KL takes care of the editing. Vivek pens the additional screenplay and dialogues with stunts by Ram-Laxman.
